Why create accommodation accessible for people with reduced mobility?

At the Garden of the 4 Seasons, we always wanted to welcome everyone with the same attention and quality comfort. Accessibility should not be an option but an obvious choice. From the project’s inception, and in collaboration with local stakeholders such as Pays du Mans and Sarthe Tourisme, we evolved our plans to meet the real needs of travelers.

For us, tourism should be inclusive, respectful, and deeply human. Creating accommodation accessible for people with reduced mobility means allowing everyone to fully experience the Garden: peace, nature, outdoor terraces, and shared moments in complete serenity.

What are the main challenges when designing accommodation for people with reduced mobility?

The challenges are many: accessibility standards are demanding and sometimes complex to implement. It is necessary to respect precise turning radii, install full-length opening shower panels, ensure perfectly level floors, up to the parking lot.

Beyond the technical, we wanted to avoid any medicalized atmosphere. The challenge was to offer accessible, comfortable, and aesthetic accommodation, faithful to the charm of our lodgings and suitable for all our visitors, without distinction.

What are the next steps in your project for people with reduced mobility?

Accessibility is for us an evolving project, set over time. After arranging the exteriors, we opted for stabilized honeycomb pathways, balancing respect for the terrain and comfort of wheelchair movement.

In 2026, we take a new step with the creation of a fully accessible guest room for people with reduced mobility, designed especially for couples wanting to stay with us with full autonomy. Work began in January, and the opening is scheduled for May 2026, for the summer season.

We are also continuing to improve access around the pool so that everyone can fully enjoy all the areas of the Garden of the 4 Seasons.

Our ambition: to develop our establishment step by step so that nature, comfort, and accessibility become one, allowing everyone to experience a serene and inclusive stay here.

Which audiences visit your establishment and how do they reach you?

A large part of the requests related to our accommodations for people with reduced mobility comes from the Le Mans Tourist Office, which highlights our adapted hosting capacity.

We have already hosted:

families looking for accessible stays near Le Mans, including a person with severe disabilities requiring a medical bed and hoist. Thanks to Handipharm (La Ferté) and the pharmacy of Changé, the equipment was delivered and installed on site, enabling an extended stay in excellent conditions;
groups from ESAT during the spring holidays;
many wheelchair users who came to attend the 24 Hours of Le Mans;
families in privatization, particularly with elderly people appreciating the comfort and adapted facilities.

The way we travel is evolving; the final destination is no longer the sole purpose, the journey is an integral part of your vacation and becomes an enriching experience. By stopping at hotels, bed and breakfasts, or guesthouses equipped with an electric charging station, you can take a break, rejuvenate, and make great connections, adding a human and social dimension to your travel experience.

The electric car charging station is optional during your stay. Please request it at the reception:

In Sarthe, rent your bike at the cottage for the holidays

Starting June 1st, our establishment offers bike rentals to guests during their stay at the guesthouse.

We chose to purchase bikes that accommodate all people by adapting to all sizes and shapes. The Dutch bicycle appeared to us as the most suitable for adults and teenagers.

Our new bikes are equipped with front and rear lights, reflectors, and a bell. These elements are essential to ensure your safety on the road.

We also provide additional safety accessories, such as helmets, reflective vests, and locks.

This new service is part of all our initiatives in favor of sustainable tourism. Our beautiful Sarthe offers a rich natural and cultural setting. Bike rentals provide visitors with an eco-friendly way to move around and gently explore the region.

Discover the Sarthe by bike through the Vélobuissonière or the Loir Valley

Launched in June 2014, La Sarthe à vélo promotes the development of marked circuits and bike routes to encourage bike tourism in the region. By following these itineraries, cycle tourists can cross the tranquil fields of Haute Sarthe or venture further south along the meandering rivers Sarthe and Loir.

This network offers more than 1000 km of routes marked by the Department, using low-traffic roads and Greenways, thus allowing the discovery of the diversity of Sarthe’s landscapes, its waterways, as well as the richness of its cultural and historical heritage.

Collection of the tourist tax starting from January 1, 2024

In France, hotels, holiday cottages, furnished tourist accommodations, and bed and breakfasts are subject to the tourist tax.

Since January 1, 2024, the community of municipalities of South East Manceaux has voted to implement the tourist tax.

What are the prices for our establishment for 2024:

> Cottages or furnished tourist accommodations rated 3 stars: 0.88 cents / person and per night.

> Bed and breakfasts: 0.55 cents / person and per night.

This tax will be collected on site in cash only.

Note, only adults over 18 are affected by this tax.

What is the purpose of the tourist tax?

The tourist tax in France is a financial contribution that travelers must pay when they stay in a tourist accommodation, such as hotels, campsites, bed and breakfasts, or holiday cottages. This tax aims to finance actions related to tourism development and the improvement of local infrastructures. The funds collected are generally used to support projects intended to promote tourism, maintain tourist sites, organize cultural or sports events, and improve services for visitors.

Very pleasant stay!

The welcome was top-notch! Since another room was available, we were offered to visit both to choose. The rooms are carefully decorated and the bedding is comfortable. Hearty breakfast. Very pleasant interaction with the hosts, attentive to our needs. We will surely return with our children!

Very good value for money, highly recommend

The cottages are located in a very pleasant and quiet environment. Had it not rained, we could have eaten outside as there is a playground and large wooden benches. The rooms are tastefully decorated, and the bathroom has everything one might wish for. The welcome was very friendly. Breakfast leaves nothing to be desired. It is possible to prepare your own egg dishes, the pans are already ready. The dishes available are already laid out on the different tables. This place is highly recommendable. Even better, in the near future, a fast charging station for electric cars will be added.

Excellent stay and perfect welcome

A beautiful discovery very close to Le Mans: idyllic setting in the middle of nature, excellent welcome, superb room decor (the managers are real professionals in interior architecture), excellent bedding, quality sanitary facilities, and impeccable cleanliness, delicious à la carte breakfast. Everything has been thought out in the smallest details for the well-being and rest of the guests. A pool is under construction… We’ll be back soon!

A bit of paradise

We really enjoyed our stay. The beds were very comfortable. Everything was clean. Good water pressure in the shower and the kitchenette was well kitted out in hot beverages. Located inside beautiful farm, gorgeous scenery. Breakfast the next was was superb! I would definitely stay again.

Eco-friendly and peaceful family cottage

Idyllic place not far from Le Mans, at the crossroads of a well-served road network, between relaxation and various leisure activities. A farmhouse fitted out to perfection with pertinence and uniqueness by a passionate and fascinating couple, proud to share their enclave and its cultural, sporting, diverse and entertaining environment. This biodiversity contributes to well-being, a shared vegetable garden, and the crow of the rooster (a technical feat that can still be preserved, but for how long?), far from urban tumult. A swimming pool should be completed in a few months to satisfy rejuvenating baths and playful splashing according to the rites inspired by the youngest. Not having engraved my initials in the guest book, I rectify my oversight by posting this passage as a friendly testimony. An excellent address to recommend without moderation. May the long years of labor by Tony & Co delight you immensely. This to serve what is right for any good cause.

Excellent stay

Our night at the Garden of the 4 Seasons went very well. The site is very pleasant, especially for nature-lovers. It’s almost in the middle of the fields, and the owners have taken care to make this place very natural with lots of plants (shrubs, flowers, vegetables, herbs) and fluid pathways. The wooden construction is very warm and the decor is super cool and trendy. There is a lot of attention given to guests to make them feel good. The extra perk: a communal kitchen area is available for reheating or storing in the fridge, which is great. I wish you many happy guests.

To limit our energy consumption and provide even more comfort to our customers, we installed reversible heat pumps a year ago, which ensure
heating and air conditioning in our two cottages and in 2 guest rooms.

We have thus been able to reduce our electricity consumption during the winter period by about 20%.
The phone app allows for better management and optimization of consumption.

Every year, the company Technik’mans intervenes for the maintenance of indoor and outdoor units, ensures the cleaning of filters and units to guarantee the proper functioning of the installation.
